1. Definitions

• "Corvane Works", "we", "us", "our" — the watch repair and documentation workshop at 41 Jalan Sultan Idris Shah, 30000 Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia.
• "Service" — any of the workshop services described on our website, including Chronograph Mechanism Service, Strap Fitting and Spring Bar Renewal, and Estate Watch Documentation and Condition Report.
• "User", "you", "your" — any individual who uses this website, submits an enquiry, or brings a piece to the workshop for service.
• "Agreement" — the binding arrangement between you and Corvane Works formed when you confirm acceptance of our scope and pricing for a specific Service.
• "Piece" — any watch or watch component submitted to the workshop for service or documentation.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using this website or submitting an enquiry, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or submit any enquiry.

Our services are intended for individuals aged 18 and over. By engaging with Corvane Works, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under Malaysian law.

3. Service Description

Corvane Works offers three defined repair and documentation services for mechanical watches, as described on our Solutions page. Services are carried out at our Ipoh workshop. We do not currently offer postal intake or collection.

Services are available to individuals who can attend the workshop in person for drop-off and collection, or who arrange these by prior agreement. Workshop hours are Monday to Friday 9:00 am – 5:30 pm, and Saturday 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.

4. Service Terms

4.1 Intake and scope agreement

Before any work begins, we will confirm the scope of the service, the estimated duration, and the applicable price. No work will commence until you have agreed to these terms in writing or by verbal confirmation.

4.2 Scope changes

If disassembly reveals a condition that changes the scope or cost of the service, we will stop and contact you before proceeding. No additional work will be carried out without your explicit agreement to revised terms.

4.3 Parts and sourcing

Where replacement parts are required, we will discuss availability and sourcing before any commitment is made. For less common calibres, sourcing lead time may extend the duration of the service beyond the initial estimate.

4.4 Duration

Estimated durations are provided in good faith based on experience with similar work. We will notify you if circumstances cause a material change to the expected timeline.

4.5 Collection

Completed pieces are available for collection by appointment. We will notify you when your piece is ready. Pieces left uncollected for more than 60 days after notification may incur a storage charge, details of which will be communicated at that time.

5. Payment Terms

Prices are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Published prices represent the starting cost for standard work within the described service scope. Where additional parts or effort are required, a revised price will be discussed and agreed before that work proceeds.

Payment is due in full upon collection of the piece. Accepted payment methods will be confirmed at intake. We do not store payment card details.

Deposits may be requested for services involving parts sourcing. This will be communicated at the time of scope agreement.

Refund policy: If we are unable to complete a service due to circumstances within our control, any deposit paid will be returned in full. If you choose to withdraw from a service after parts have been ordered on your behalf, you may be liable for the cost of those parts.

6. Care of Pieces

Pieces submitted to the workshop are handled with care. We take reasonable steps to safeguard each piece during the service period. However, as with any workshop handling of mechanical objects, we cannot be responsible for pre-existing conditions that are not apparent at intake and that become visible only during disassembly.

We will document the condition of each piece at intake and advise you of any findings that were not apparent externally.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, images, layout, and design — is the property of Corvane Works or used under licence. You may not reproduce or distribute any content from this site without our prior written consent.

Service records and condition reports produced by Corvane Works for your pieces are provided for your personal use. They may not be altered or presented as independent professional valuations.

8. Disclaimers

The estate documentation and condition report service is factual and descriptive. It does not constitute a valuation, appraisal for insurance or resale purposes, or a recommendation for any course of action. Corvane Works is not a licensed valuer.

We do not make claims about the future performance, reliability, or value of any piece following service.

Website content is provided for information purposes and may not reflect the most current workshop pricing or availability.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, Corvane Works' liability for any claim arising from a Service shall not exceed the amount paid by you for that specific Service.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including loss of use of a piece, loss of anticipated value, or costs arising from delay.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Corvane Works against any claims, losses, or expenses arising from your misuse of our website, your breach of these Terms, or any misrepresentation you make in connection with a Service enquiry or agreement.

11. Termination

Either party may withdraw from a service agreement before work commences. If withdrawal occurs after intake but before work begins, no charge applies. If withdrawal occurs after work has commenced, you may be liable for labour and parts costs incurred to that point.

We reserve the right to decline or discontinue service to any party without obligation to provide a reason, subject to returning any piece in our possession.

12. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us first at [email protected] so that we may attempt to resolve the matter informally.

If informal resolution is not possible, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.

13. General Provisions

Entire agreement: These Terms, together with any written service agreement specific to your piece, constitute the entire agreement between you and Corvane Works in relation to our services.

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it in future.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted to this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the website or engagement with our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
